About this event
The lotus has long been a cherished motif in Chinese art and culture, celebrated as a symbol of purity and integrity for its ability to “emerge unstained from the mud, and remain graceful in clear waters.” In traditional painting, the lotus embodies nobility, resilience, and inner tranquility. Its blossoms are expansive and refined, while its broad leaves overlap in rhythm, evoking both decorative beauty and profound cultural meaning.
Learning to paint the lotus is not only an artistic discipline but also a meditative journey—an opportunity to experience the clarity, serenity, and transcendent spirit at the heart of traditional Chinese aesthetics.
All painting materials (including brush, ink, and rice paper) are provided. Suitable for all levels of experience. Participants can take their finished artwork home after the session!
