Craft four elegant summer wagashi with a cultural twist! Learn their history, sculpt edible art, and bring home your handmade sweets.
Discover the edible poetry of traditional confections at 7s Art’s Seasons in Sweets: Summer Wagashi Workshop. This hands-on experience offers more than dessert—it’s a journey into the seasonal beauty, cultural symbolism, and artistry of wagashi.
Led by NYC-based tea dessert artist Xinxin He, you’ll craft four summer-themed designs: Rose (玫瑰), Early Lotus (初荷), Hydrangea (绣球), and Wisteria (紫藤). Each sweet reflects the essence of the season through color, form, and meaning.
No experience is necessary—just curiosity and a love for art, food, and culture. All tools and materials will be provided, and participants will take home their handmade creations to enjoy or gift.
This is the perfect Saturday activity to explore traditional East Asian arts, meet creative people, and slow down with something meaningful and sweet.
