Chinese Painting Workshop: Painting Chrysanthemum with Brush and Ink

  • 7s Art Labo 36 East Broadway, 2nd Fl New York, NY, 10002 United States (map)

About this event

Experience the Elegant Spirit of the Chrysanthemum in Chinese Painting at 7s Art. In this workshop, you’ll explore the noble beauty of the chrysanthemum — one of the Four Gentlemen in traditional Chinese art, symbolizing integrity, resilience, and quiet grace. Known for blooming proudly amid autumn frost, the chrysanthemum represents strength in serenity and independence of spirit.

Under the instructor’s guidance, you will learn how to outline petals with layered rhythm, capture the vitality of leaves and stems, and build balanced compositions through brush and ink. Through this creative process, you’ll experience how Chinese painting blends skill, emotion, and philosophy into one flowing expression.

All materials are provided (including brush, ink, and xuan paper). Suitable for all skill levels. You’ll take home your own hand-painted chrysanthemum masterpiece at the end of the session!
